VOLUNTEERS

Volunteering is fundamental to New Zealand and to sport in New Zealand.

Rugby New Zealand 2011 is committed to delivering an outstanding festival that will create enduring benefits for rugby and New Zealand as well as great memories for everyone involved.

The Volunteers Programme will be key to the success of the Rugby World Cup 2011 festival. We want to present New Zealand in the best possible way to our international visitors and to do this we need the support of volunteers.

Our volunteers, who will be the face of the festival, need to be recruited, selected and trained to achieve this outcome. We also want to make sure that the festival will provide a positive and valuable volunteer experience for New Zealanders.

  • We are developing a volunteer programme that will open the door to
volunteering for a wide range of New Zealanders from one end of the
    country to the other.

  • Nearly 5,000 volunteers will be needed across the country in many different roles.

  • We will communicate with you regularly in the build up to the festival and put you in touch with other volunteers.

  • We will provide volunteer training and experiences that will enhance
    volunteer's skills and abilities.

  • You will be able to use your existing skills in a number of specialised
roles or choose to volunteer at the venues or in the community.

We will be recruiting volunteers later in 2009 through our website using an online application form.
