Brazil and hosts Paraguay are both off to unbeaten starts in the CONSUR South American B championship in Asuncion.

The tournament is doubling as the first round of qualifying for the region for the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.

Favourites Brazil kicked off their campaign on 19 June with a 34-3 win against Colombia and then overpowered Venezuela 61-8 on the third match day, 23 June.

Paraguay, meanwhile, started with an equally impressive 44-3 win against the Venezuelans and then saw off Peru 71-0 on 21 June after only recently returning to international rugby following a three-year absence from the top level.

The Brazilians have made no secret of their ambitions to join Argentina, Uruguay and Chile at the continent's top table and they look set to face the hosts in a 'final' on the last day of the round robin event.
