How we use your personal information
England Rugby 2015 Ltd. (ER2015) is committed to protecting your privacy. The following is a description of our dissemination practices for data that you have provided to us via the newsletter sign up page on www.rugbyworldcup.com or any other website or means of data collection that you have participated in ("the Site"). It sets out what we will do with your information and the ways in which we protect it.
We use information about you for three primary purposes:
- To perform the services you have requested, such as processing an order for tickets or sending you our newsletter and other information about the Rugby World Cup 2015 (RWC2015)
- To alert you to other interesting information, unless you have indicated otherwise
- To manage and improve the Site
Performing the services you have requested
If you choose to give us personal information through the Site then this will be held and processed by ER2015 in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 to perform the services you have requested.
Alerting you to other interesting information
ER2015 is very much aware that some people will not want their information used other than for the primary purpose for which it was supplied, some will want to receive additional information from ER2015 on RWC2015 issues only and others will be happy to receive more information.
The additional information that you might receive can be divided into four groups:
- ER2015 may wish to send you additional information about RWC2015 that may be of interest to you or may wish to seek your views about RWC2015.
- RWCL, and organisers of future rugby world cup tournaments, may send you information, or seek your views, about rugby, RWC2015 and future tournaments and other sports events and activities that may be of interest to you.
- Official partners of RWC2015 and future tournaments may wish to send you information and special offers relating to their products and services. These partners will be listed on the Site or on the website of the relevant future tournament.
- Other third parties such as the RFU, other rugby unions, rugby clubs, volunteering organisations and Sport England may wish to send you information, or seek your views, about rugby, future rugby tournaments and other sports events and their activities as part of our Rugby World Cup 2015 legacy programme to grow participation in rugby, sport and volunteering nationwide. When we request information from you we will let you know which types of third parties may wish to send you information as part of our Rugby World Cup 2015 legacy programme.
Any personal information we provide to RWCLwill be held by RWCL in accordance with Irish data protection law. It will be used, and may be disclosed to organisers of future tournaments and official partners, to provide you with information and offers as described above, for research purposes (including to develop and improve RWC2015 and future tournaments) and to obtain customer feedback.
We will not send you information, or disclose your details to others (as described above) so that they can send you information, if you have told us that you do not want us to use or disclose your details in that way, either by ticking an "opt-out" box on the Site or by separate email (see the Consent section of this policy, below).
