- In those 16 matches South Africa have scored 175 points in the first half and only 95 in the second half and have only scored more second half points than the All Blacks in one of those matches; in 1998 when they won 13-3 at Athletic Park, the previous test venue in Wellington and outscored their opponents 10-3 in the second period.
- New Zealand's second half domination extends to matches played in South Africa. Overall the All Blacks have scored 40 points more than the Springboks in the first half of matches but 208 more points in the second half.
