CARDIFF, 28 September - Wales have called up two World Cup replacements after losing centre Scott Williams and wing Hallam Amos for the rest of the tournament.
Williams (knee) and Amos (shoulder) were both injured in Wales’ 28-25 win against England at Twickenham on Saturday and have been released from the squad. They will be given a detailed prognosis after further assessment of their injuries.
James Hook (pictured) and Gareth Anscombe, who were part of Wales’ World Cup training squad and featured in warm-up tests before the tournament, have been called in.
Hook, who has 78 caps, will feature in his third RWC squad. Anscombe made his International debut against Ireland in August.
Liam Williams was concussed at Twickenham and will not be considered for the game against Fiji in Cardiff on Thursday. His condition will be continually assessed before he is considered for selection for Wales’ game against Australia on 10 October.
