Rugby New Zealand 2011 CEO Snedden (NZL)
PARIS, 21 October - Comments from Rugby New Zealand 2011 CEO Martin Snedden (NZL) at the IRB Rugby World Cup 2007 closing press conference.
Martin Snedden (NZL) - Rugby New Zealand 2011 CEO
On RWC 2011:
"I think we (Rugby New Zealand 2011 Ltd) are very fortunate in our case that the government (of New Zealand) is a direct shareholder in the event."
"I don't have any lack of confidence in New Zealand to deliver a tournament of this size."
"We are a rugby-mad country so capturing the support of the nation will not be a problem."
On what the 2011 organising committee can learn from RWC 2007:
"It reminded us how important it is for us to put a distinct New Zealand stamp on our event as the French have done for this rugby world cup."
On the capacity for New Zealand to generate significant income from the event:
"For us it has a different impact. We are not as big as France. We have a smaller population and smaller stadiums. The financial model is tough but it's fair."
