Fanzone in Iwate/Kamaishi

Key Features

• Dubbed “Rugby Town,” the city of Kamaishi City is known for its proud legacy left by the Nippon Steel Corporation Kamaishi Rugby Club having won 7 consecutive national championships between 1979 and 1985.
• Among the 12 Host Cities, Kamaishi will be the home of the longest running Fanzone for a period of 30 days, staging public viewing events for all 48 matches throughout the Tournament, from the Pool Phase to the Knock-Out Phase.
• On behalf of all the areas severely affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami in March 2011, the city wishes to express its gratitude for the continuing support in welcoming the visitors from across the nation and the rest of the world.
