Qualification heroes in Uruguay team for opener against Fiji

Try-scoring centres will hope to repeat play-off heroics when they start their RWC 2019 campaign against Fiji on Wednesday.

TOKYO, 23 Sep - Uruguay coach Esteban Meneses has named his team for the Pool D match against Fiji at Kamaishi Recovery Memorial Stadium on Wednesday 25 September.

There are nine survivors from the starting line-up that secured World Cup qualification against Canada in February 2018, including centres Andres Vilaseca and Juan Manuel Cat, who both scored in that game.

In the back row, captain Juan Manuel Gaminara, pictured, is one of eight players who were in Uruguay's match-day 23 when they lost 47-15 to Fiji at RWC 2015.
