Michele Visentin called up to Italy squad to replace injured Andrea Masi

LONDON, 21 Sept – Michele Visentin has been called up by Italy coach Jacques Brunel to replace injured centre Andrea Masi.
Masi tore his left Achilles tendon in Italy’s 32-10 loss to France at Twickenham on Saturday and is expected to be operated on this week. His recovery is expected to take between four and six months.
Visentin, made his only test appearance in Italy’s 22-19 win over Scotland at Murrayfield in this year’s Six Nations.
The wing plays for Parma-based Zebre in the Pro 12 and previously played for the Italy U20 team. He arrived at the team hotel in Guildford on Sunday evening and will immediately be in contention for a place in Italy’s match-day squad for their next World Cup fixture against Canada at Elland Road in Leeds on Saturday.
