First two semi-final spots nabbed
New Zealand will face Canada in the semi-finals of Rugby World Cup 2025 following their respective victories over South Africa and Australia.
The Black Ferns were made to work for their win after going into half-time with the scores tied at 10-apiece, but a strong second-half showing saw them home.
Canada, meanwhile, flexed their muscles to beat the Wallaroos in the second of Saturday's two matches. The semi-final between the Canadians and the six-time champions will take place at Ashton Gate in Bristol on Friday, 19 September. You can buy tickets to the game here.
There are still two more semi-final places up for grabs as France take on Ireland in Exeter on Sunday, before England do battle with Scotland in Bristol in the last of the four quarter-finals.
Scottish pair make retirement announcements
Scotland forward Jade Konkel has announced that she will retire from international rugby when Scotland's journey at Rugby World Cup 2025 comes to an end.
The 31-year-old will make her 74th appearance in Sunday’s quarter-final against England, having made her debut against the same opposition during the 2013 Six Nations.
Meanwhile, her team-mate Lisa Cockburn has announced she will retire from all rugby when the curtain comes down on this Rugby World Cup.
"Playing for Scotland has meant the world to me," Cockburn said. "I have cherished every moment. It has come with a lot of sacrifice and hard work, but it has all been so incredibly worth it."
'That should be me!'
Who spotted some famous faces in the Ashton Gate crowd on Saturday afternoon?!
The USA team showed that just because they aren't playing, doesn't mean they can't still enjoy #RWC2025.
They gave a rendition of 'It should have been me' while staring longingly at the pristine Ashton Gate turf.
'Phenomenal' Booi says goodbye
South Africa's departure from Rugby World Cup 2025 also means the end of Nolusindiso Booi's international journey.
The 40-year-old was trying to take it all in at the full-time whistle, but it was understandably a lot to process for someone who has given so much to the green and gold jersey.
"I'm so emotional right now but I am also proud of the progress of our team," Booi said. "I feel that we did good and for sure the young generation will push for the final, hopefully next time."
Babalwa Latsha said of Booi: "She’s a phenomenal human being, a phenomenal player, a stalwart. She’s been around for a very long time, and I’ve had the privilege of playing alongside her and leading alongside her as well.
"It was her last game today, she’s finally resting, and I think that her legacy is one that’s incredible."
And finally... Monaghan gets surprise visitors
Before Canada's impressive win, there was a touching moment during the team's jersey presentation earlier in the week as Iain Monaghan was surprised by his wife and son, who he had not seen since July.
