Disciplinary update: Lachlan Doheny (Hong Kong China)

Hong Kong China's Lachlan Doheny is free to play with immediate effect after a Foul Play Review Committee (FPRC) deemed his sending off for two yellow cards against Chile was sufficient sanction.

Hong Kong China second row Lachlan Doheny was issued with a red card as a result of two yellow cards (cynical infringement Law 9.7(a) and high tackle Law 9.13) in Hong Kong China’s World Rugby Nations Cup match against Chile on 11 July, 2026.

The independent Foul Play Review Committee (FPRC) was chaired by Rhian Williams (Wales), joined by former player Chris Smith (New Zealand) and former referee Juan Pablo Spirandelli (Argentina), on 13 July.

The Committee found that the sending off was sufficient sanction, noting that one of the yellow cards was for a technical offence. The player has accepted the sanction and as a result is free to play with immediate effect.
