The France 2023 Organising Committee is proud to announce that HP has been appointed as an Official Supplier of Rugby World Cup 2023. With this sponsorship, HP and France 2023 will provide laptops to the 2,600 apprentices taking part in the Campus 2023 programme, based all over the French territory. Campus 2023 is the apprenticeship programme of Rugby World Cup France 2023 and was created with the ambition to provide grassroots sports clubs and regional leagues with new resources to further professionalize them. The programme aims to train and create the new generation of skilled professionals for the French sports’ industry.
HP AT THE HEART OF CAMPUS 2023
The apprentices recruited in the Campus 2023 programme, with a background ranging from high-school diploma to master’s degrees, will have a choice among 7 diploma courses in either sports, tourism or security.
HP, now an Official Supplier of the third largest sporting event in the world, and Campus 2023 share the values of inclusion and professional integration.
France 2023 revealed earlier today this sponsorship in the presence of HP representatives and the 134 apprentices from the South and Corsica regions, at a Regional Meeting of Campus 2023, in Marseille.
Claude ATCHER (CEO of France 2023): "The main purpose of France 2023 is to change the paradigm around major sporting events and to build relations that have both meaning and a positive impact on society. We are thrilled to have found, with HP, a trusted ally, with whom we are committed until 2023, with this keyword: reinvent. By being a part of the Campus 2023 project and by giving computers to all of the apprentices of this project, HP will be a major asset in making the 10th Rugby World Cup a success and will facilitate the daily life of thousands of ambitious and motivated young people, at the heart of this programme.”
Arnaud LEPINOIS (President of HP France): “I deeply believe in the educational virtues of sport, particularly rugby. These young people will be able to have a professional evolution in an environment of cohesion and team spirit. HP is proud to support these next professionals of sport on their path to success with the tools allowing them to build their future.”
ABOUT RUGBY WORLD CUP FRANCE 2023:
Rugby World Cup 2023 will take place in France from 8 September - 28 October with matches played in nine venues across 10 host cities. The tournament will be the 10th men’s Rugby World Cup and the second to be hosted by France after a memorable event in 2007.
RWC 2023 will take place in a year when the sport celebrates 200 years since Rugby School pupil William Webb Ellis was credited with inventing the game of rugby football by showing “a fine disregard for the rules” in catching the ball and running with it in 1823.
RWC 2023 will set new standards in social responsibility, inclusion and sustainability for a major rugby event, targeting four key pillars for the tournament’s legacy: acting for sustainability and circular economy, supporting education, training and employment, respecting and protecting the environment and promoting inclusivity by being a champion for gender equality.
The showpiece event in men’s rugby union 15s, Rugby World Cup 2023 will feature 20 teams – 12 of whom qualified directly by finishing in the top three in their pool at Japan 2019 and eight from a global qualification process – with 48 matches played across 51 days.
