Known as “rugby town Kumagaya” since holding the National Sports Tournament in 1967, Kumagaya’s history is deeply rooted in rugby. The town is the central hub in northern Saitama Prefecture and the majestic Arakawa River that flows into Tokyo Bay is the origin of this town’s beginnings.
