Concorde Rugby Village – Information and access
With the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games less than a year away, Paris is hosting Rugby World Cup 2023 and the International Wheelchair Rugby Cup. The city, its residents and visitors will live to the rhythm of the competitions with a village entirely dedicated to rugby, from 8 September to 28 October, 2023 on an iconic Parisian site: Place de la Concorde.
The Sainte-Chapelle, nestled on the Île de la Cité, is a Gothic masterpiece that never ceases to amaze visitors. Built in the 13th century by King Louis IX, this sacred edifice housed precious relics, including Christ's legendary Crown of Thorns. Its many stained-glass windows create a unique atmosphere.
Nearby, the Conciergerie, a former royal residence, was transformed into a prison during the French Revolution. The dungeon cells witnessed the tragedies of famous characters such as Marie-Antoinette. The remains of the former guards' room and the Salle des Gens d'Armes recall the past grandeur of this historic edifice. The Conciergerie's architectural richness and historical significance make it a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Whether you're a lover of art, architecture or history, the Sainte-Chapelle and Conciergerie offer a unique experience.
